BREADLESS SECURES INVESTMENT FROM MICHIGAN RISE

EAST LANSING, MI –– Breadless, a gluten-free, fast casual restaurant based in Detroit, has secured an investment from Michigan Rise Pre-Seed Fund III. 

The founders of Breadless believe that everyone in every neighborhood should have access to healthy, low carb, and gluten-free meals. As the company’s name suggests, the restaurant is known for sandwiches that replace the bun with leafy super greens, as well as rice bowls, soups, jicama chips, agua fresca, falafel balls with dipping sauce, and desserts.  

The founding team behind Breadless, consisting of Marc Howland, LaTresha Howland and Ryan Salter, has extensive experience in the restaurant industry. Salter, a well-known chef with a clientele that includes local celebrities, is also the owner of a new gastropub concept called Salt + Ko. 

“The team has all the skills to create a buzz-worthy brand,” said Tommy Skinner, Venture Associate at Michigan Rise. “With the increase of people with celiac disease and the popularity of low- or no-gluten diets, Breadless should gain organic growth, setting the stage for a franchise model to grow beyond Southeastern Michigan.” 

The investment from Michigan Rise will be used to launch a second location in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
